Following on from Close Eyes To Exit, Klangstof have returned to 2019 with the first track from their upcoming release, The Noise You Make Is Silent. Built around a fuzzy, late-on-the-beat synth, ‘Attack Attack’ is a masterwork of modern production. Balancing a thick texture with such precision while bringing jazz inspired rhythms to a piece of electronic music is an impressive skill. Of writing this track, Koen van de Wardt states, “I felt like I was annoying everyone with whatever I was doing and couldn’t get out of that vibe for almost a year. So this is almost like an apology letter to the people that were around me at the time”. The heavy outro that plays the track out feels like a blockbuster soundtrack in its grandeur, so seeing what shows up on their new album will be a treat. - Dan Peeke
